Triphala, literally translated as āthree fruits,ā is a traditional Ayurvedic formulation made up of three fruits native to the region. Triphala is often called the ānectar of lifeā for itās cleansing, balancing and healing properties in Ayurvedic medicine. The three fruits these pills contain are AmalakiĀ (Emblica officinalis), BibhitakiĀ (Terminalia belerica)Ā and HaritakiĀ (Terminalia chebula). These fruits are dried and ground into a fine powder, creating a potent and versatile herbal supplement. We then take this powder and compress it into our Organic Triphala Tablets.Ā
With a strong commitment to sustainability, we ethically grow and harvest our Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki by partnering with small family farmers,Ā aiming to preserve the communities and long-term well-being of the ecosystems and land of India.

Triphala in Ayurvedic Practice
Known for its balancing properties, triphala is believed to support overall well-being and foster regular, healthy, complete bowel movements.* It is made from three fruits:
- AmalakiĀ ā The word Amla translates to mean āsourā. Amalaki has a naturally sour taste and supports digestion.*
- BibhitakiĀ ā In Sanskrit, Bibhitaki is known as āVibheetakiā in which ābheetaā means fear and āVibheetaā means lack of fear. The whole word āVibheetakiā means the fruit that takes away the fear. It is known for supporting regular elimination and balancing mucus membranes.*
- HaritakiĀ ā Haritaki has been regarded very highly from ancient times by traditional healers and it is rightly called the mother of herbs. It supports gentle detoxification through improved digestive function.*
Each fruit in the Triphala powder supports the balance of the Ayruvedic doshas. Amalaki has a cooling effect, which manages fiery pitta energy. Bibhitaki is good for kapha, which maintains the fluid balance in the body, so this is helpful to get things moving throughout the body. Haritaki has a heating nature but balances all three doshas but most specifically Vata.
In Ayurveda, triphala is considered tridoshic, meaning it helps balance all three doshasāVata, Pitta, and Kaphaāwithin the body. This makes it suitable for a wide range of individuals, regardless of their unique constitution.
Originating from the Indian subcontinent, triphala's usage dates back thousands of years. Its formulation is documented in classical Ayurvedic texts such as theĀ Charaka SamhitaĀ (~100 BCE) andĀ Sushruta SamhitaĀ (~600 BCE), where it is praised for its balancing properties. Over centuries, triphala has remained a cornerstone of Ayurvedic medicine, valued not only for its potential health benefits but also for its adaptability in diverse Ayurvedic practices, ranging from dietary supplements to medicinal formulations.
Why Tablets Instead of Capsules?
One advantage of opting for herbal tablets instead of capsules is that tablets let you experience the taste of the herbs. According to Ayurveda, digestion starts in the mouth with the sense of taste, and since the digestive fire, or agni, is essential for health, the quality of our digestion directly impacts our overall well-being.
Tasting your herbs, even briefly, enhances the interaction between your herbs and your body, fostering a deeper connection between the two.
These Organic Triphala Tablets are our way of making this valuable Ayurvedic supplement accessible, convenient, and easy to take.Ā
